About HEIC to PDF

HEIC to PDF accepts .heic and .heif photos, loads the HEIC decoder only after files are added, decodes each image and converts it to JPEG at 92% quality before PDF embedding. This is a lossy conversion, not an archival preservation of the original HEIC encoding. Choose A4, Letter or Match image, set fixed-sheet orientation and reorder the decoded thumbnails.

Frequently asked questions about HEIC to PDF

Is conversion lossless?

No. heic2any produces JPEG blobs at quality 0.92. The decoded dimensions are retained, but the pixels go through a lossy JPEG encode.

Are Live Photo videos included?

No. The picker accepts HEIC/HEIF images, not the companion MOV stream. The PDF contains static pages.

Can a renamed unknown file be forced through?

The picker and decoder expect HEIC or HEIF content. Renaming another format is not a supported conversion path and may fail decoding.
